This has been a good week for Beatles fans, as three separate Beatles-related books have made the news.
1. Via GalleyCat, I read that Abrams will be publishing Living in the Material World: George Harrison — an illustrated book that will be out in September, alongside a documentary from Martin Scorsese about the 1973 solo album, “Living in the Material World.” The book will include bits from photos, diary entries, letters, and other memorabilia to lend insight into the guitarist’s life.
2. Business tips from the Beatles? You bet. On March 28, Turner Publishing released Come Together: The Business Wisdom of the Beatles. Authors Richard Courtney and George Cassidy examined the Beatles franchise, looking at their career like a business model.
3. Yoko Ono recently consented to allow a book to be published that contains a collection of letters and scribbles from her late husband, John Lennon. Hunter Davies, the official Beatles biographer, currently has 200 letters to work from.
