And so a new week begins.. as so do our highlights:
— eBook Infographic: It’s all about visualizing. Thanks to Digital Reader, we can now have a better understanding of the “E-book Market 2012”. It compares details about the various English language e-book markets (U.K., Canada, U.S. & Australia). There are opportunities & challenges for traditional publishers, and they will need to annunciate their value proposition as the publishing industry evolves. Authors should not think e-book or print book, but consider both as complementing each other.
— StoryBundle Brings Indie Authors to Readers: Have you ever heard of StoryBundle? It’s a new, up-and-comer with a “pay-what-you-want” deal – (yes you heard us correctly)- and it’s worth looking deeper into. What’s even cooler about this site, is that a portion of what you pay can go to charity, so you can feel good about your purchase in so many ways.
— HuffPost Live has officially launched! The “North Star” of this gigantic initiative is engagement. Well, consider us engaged. We’re incredibly excited to see where their ambitious new video platform takes off. Ah, times they are a-changin’.
— Speaking of new platforms; Pubslush is a global crowdfunded publishing platform with a cause. It’s goal is to help authors raise money, connect with their audience, and provide the tools to publish successfully; be it traditional or self methods. The site is not only for authors, as readers play a large role in determining which book gets published. Pubslush supports children’s literacy worldwide and we absolutely love their innovative concept. We encourage you to watch this video and learn more about the new site.
— Goodreads Reaches 10 Million Members! Congratulations to all of the intelligent people who have been diligently working on the popular book community. We’re seeing a huge rise in digital reviewing and the importance of online communities. Could Goodreads be the Facebook for book lovers? Only time will tell.
