This has been an unfortunate week full of lost lives. Most upsetting to me, as a former Detroiter and book publicist, is that of author Jeffrey Zaslow, who lost his life in a tragic car accident. He was 53.
As news hit of his death, I witnessed an overwhelming out-pour of support and love from Michiganders, members of the Detroit Jewish community, as well as people in the publishing industry who had been touched by their interactions with Zaslow and his work. Further cementing just how loved Zaslow was, on February 11, the Wall Street Journal posted this touching tribute to Zaslow.
Zaslow’s words will live on in through his published works. To the Zaslow family, I wish you continued strength and send my sincerest condolences. Funeral services are being held today at 1 p.m. at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in Southfield, MI.
