POWERHOUSE: 13 Teamwork Tactics the Build Excellence and Unrivaled Success by Kristine Lilly and Dr. John Gillis Jr. with Lynette Gillis
January 29, 2020

MEDIA CONNECT was hired by Kristine Lilly and John Gillis to promote their business book in 2019.  The goal was to introduce Kristine and John to the business media via the book and increase their visibility in the business community to secure future consulting work.

Our approach was to capitalize on Kristine’s success in the sports arena and the book’s insights into teamwork to capture a mix of business, sports and consumer media.  We rode the coattails of the popularity of the US women’s soccer team leading up to the Women’s World Cup played in France in June of 2019 to land major broadcast interviews and print placements for the authors.  In addition, we set up a series of book talks for Kristine and John culminating in a very successful author event at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The Sparkle Box by Jill Hardie
November 30, 2015

MEDIA CONNECT conducted a boutique campaign for The Sparkle Box, which is a beautiful children’s book that inspires children and families to give to others during the holiday season. Readers would record these special events on slips of paper and drop them in the sparkle box that was included within the book, which they could open together on Christmas day in honor of Jesus’ birthday. It’s a wonderful new tradition for families to remember the true meaning of Christmas.

MEDIA CONNECT promoted The Miracle of the Kurds: A Remarkable Story of Hope Reborn In Northern Iraq (Worthy Publishing) by bestselling author Stephen Mansfield. The Kurds, descendants of the ancient Medes best known today from the pages of the Bible —are the inhabitants of what the world now calls Northern Iraq. Mansfield chronicles how Saddam Hussein brutally attempted to annihilate them, massacring hundreds of thousands of them in the process, and how those that survived have rebuilt and overcome oppression to create a homeland now called a “must-see destination” by National Geographic.
